What's in my bag?

I am incredibly fond of "what's in my bag" posts. I have to admit that I am a massive fan of looking at what other people have in their bags, so I finally decided that I had to make my own. My bag contents have changed greatly since my days at school so now instead of carrying around massive history or math books, I've replaced it with the essentials of my every day life. I do change bags a lot, so at the moment I am lugging around a burgundy Pieces bag that I received for my birthday. It is absolutely perfect for me because I always manage to lose things inside of my bag and this bag has so many pockets that my losing of things has decreased. I used to use tote bags and well to find anything in there was almost impossible.

Bus card & Driving tickets: Since my move from the center of town, a bus card was definitely needed. Our bus cards have been named "Jojo" for a reason that I do not know. And since I'm in the process of getting my drivers license, I am taking lessons which require these little coupons to keep track of how many lessons I've been taking.

Wallet: This lovely burgundy find was bought at a second hand store for 5 krs (which is under 1 dollar). Inside it says its a Puccini, and I've never heard of the brand before but it is certainly a nifty wallet.

Mini clutch: This blue, beaten up looking little purse I got years ago from Accessorize and I've always stored my first aid stuff in there. Someone always needs a band aid or a pain killer and this little purse always comes to the rescue.

Earphones & rings: I am a music fanatic, I can't walk 5 minutes alone without putting in my head phones and listening to music. One of my greatest fears is to one day forget them and be forced to take the bus in silence. As for my rings, I carry them everywhere and wear them most of the time. Just become a bit of a habit. One is a sort of voodoo man that I bought at a flee market in Rome and the other is just a simple circular ring that I bought at a festival in my town.

Clutch: This clutch stores pretty much everything that is loose in my bag. I have to clean it out every so often because it can get pretty overloaded with receipts.

Iphone: I won't lie and say I'm not attached to my iPhone because I really am but it is mostly for the music aspect of it. And it is perfect for quick photo taking and of course, pinterest.

Keys: Well just one key, to my house. I used to have a massive key chain with keys from unknown sources so I thought it best to just have the one key I use. Along with a mint green loopy key chain and a mini flashlight for finding that key hole when the outside lights haven't been switched on.

Good Read: 100 Mistakes That Changed History by Bill Fawcett. I love History and pretty much all eras and centuries and this book manages to highlight and touch upon almost each era. It is a simple read and incredibly interesting, also perfect for the bus ride home.

Lip balm / Lipstick: Winter in Sweden can get freezing, it is already starting to happen and once it gets cold, the easier chapped lips appear. So I trust my carmex lip balm for healing (it is perfect!) and my cotton candy lip smacker which is pretty much only there because it smells so scrumptious. I also carry my favorite lipstick with me which is a Spanish brand Kiko

Nail file: My essie nail file that is there when out of the blue you break a nail. I really don't use it very often but it brings comfort to me that someday when I am in dire of it, it will be there.

So there it is, the contents of my bag, hope you enjoyed!

Lisa Loves: Coats

Untitled #9

Udobuy Hood Warm Long Trench Coat (buy here) | Vince Wool Drape Hooded Coat (buy here) | Unbranded Military Green Leather Sleeve Jacket (buy here) | Topshop Short Hooded Swing Coat (buy here) | Bernard Lafond Warm Hooded Zipper Coat (buy here) |

So now that autumn is here and certainly not long until winter will be here, I decided to take a wander around the web to see if I could find some lovely new coats for the season. Above you will find some coats that happened to catch my eye and I'm especially in love with the Bernard Lafond one, a perfect combination of denim and wool. My outwear closet is filled mostly with black so I desperately tried finding some outwear that would add some color to the closet. Although I am not able to buy any of these coats, it is sure fun to take a look. The coat I'll be keeping myself warm with this autumn and winter is my trusty old leather jacket and my black and white boyfriend coat. Right now I'm trying not to part with my leather jacket but as I realized today, it is getting colder faster and that jacket just won't do. As much as I love winter, I do feel that it is coming a wee bit too fast at the moment but won't complain, time to bring out the knitted scarves and the snow resilient boots! Also I can't forget to mention that Halloween is just around the corner and even though Halloween isn't celebrated at all where I live, it doesn't stop me from contemplating costume ideas and carving pumpkins. Hope October has been a pleasant and not too cold month for all of you. And hopefully when the weather does change and bring cold, you have got a stylish and warm coat to go along with it!

One year older

First of all I'd like to apologize for my lack of posting, there have been some personal issues but I'm back and I will certainly try to get back into constant posting. Second of all, today was my birthday. My eighteenth birthday to be exact. Which means I am now a legal adult, responsible for myself. And boy, I got to tell you I am super excited about it. Today has been a lovely day, woke up and was treated with some lemon meringue cake. Then proceeded to watch a favorite mini series of mine Mistrals Daughter, followed by a relaxing bath. I was then taken to dinner and my first legal drink which was a hoot and a half. A cosmopolitan, because being the huge SATC fan that I am, I guess I just had to try it. And it was scrumptious. I am so grateful for how kind my family and friends were and they made my day incredible. Next week I am heading off to Copenhagen with my closest friend for a day of shopping and a night of celebrating. I can't say my seventeenth year has been great but I am certain that with this new milestone, things will get better. Hope you are all doing wonderfully and I thought I'd share some snapshots from my day. Have a great week!

Marc Jacobs Perfume

Untitled #8

Perfumes. I am not a huge perfume addict, wish I was but I can be quite a picky penelope with scents. I normally buy fragrances from The Body Shop because I find them fresh and not too strong. However, I do have one weakness when it comes to the wonderful world of perfume and that is dear Marc Jacobs. I have been a bearer of Marc Jacobs Lola for about two years and if I feel like indulging in a scent, it is definitely Lola. I first spotted Lola when it had just come out in New York, it was a limited edition and I found the bottle the sweetest thing I'd ever laid my eyes on. Also the most expensive thing I'd ever laid my eyes on. Turns out it was so popular, it became a full-time edition and I received it for my birthday. It was definitely worth the price, even though it had quite a strong smell, it was very sweet and fresh. Two qualities I look for in a perfume. So after raving about how great Lola was and dreading the thought of when the last drop was sprayed, I received the newer edition Oh Lola! I quickly took a liking to Oh Lola! because there was a strong smell of vanilla, which is an absolute favorite scent of mine. The reason I'm rabbling on about fragrances, is because I have been considering buying either his new one Dot or perhaps an old favorite for some, Daisy.

I am pretty convinced Daisy and Dot won't disappoint but if any of you lovelies have one, which would you recommend? Also if any of you are considering joining the Marc Jacobs perfume gang, the price may have you cringing but the scent will be worth it.

Welcome Autumn!

So autumn was a bit of a pain today. I'm saying this whilst sitting on my bed shivering because of being entirely drenched in rain. But I shouldn't complain, it is one of the things I love about it, the surprise storms that come out of nowhere when getting off the bus and having to run home. After getting warm, I'll be making me some scrumptious cinnamon tea (have you tried it? it is truly scrumptious) and will prepare myself for a long night of hearing rain tap on my window frame. There is no lovelier sound. I know this post may have had no real message but I just wanted to share with you once again, that autumn is here. And of course to tell you: do bring an umbrella or raincoat when stepping outside, it will save you from sitting in front of the computer, writing your next blog post with the sound of your teeth chattering.

Rainy Days

So these couple of days have been filled with autumn rain, wind and cold. Which means time to bring out the gloves, scarves and knitted hats! Which is definitely a reason to celebrate, at least for me, seeing as I absolutely adore autumn and winter. The unpacking is finally finished, the clothes are finally up which gives me time to focus on my next phase in life. I am in the process of applying to courses in Sweden and undergrad courses in England as well as trying to get my drivers license. So between sipping copious amounts of tea and trying to get my life in order, I'm desperately trying to get my blog up and running with continuous posts. So expect more of me! Also I'd like to introduce mon chat to my blog, Seth. Named after Seth from The OC - my sisters doing. Or Seffwa as I like to call him.

By the Sea

These past three days have been hectic to say the least. Moving is an incredibly long and at times tedious process. However, after a lot of work, the house is already starting to look like a home. My room is almost complete and I'm happy to see all my knick-knacks surrounding me. So after 3 days of hard work I decided to take a stroll around the new neighborhood, and lucky for me the house is incredibly close to the sea. My walk was filled with cold winds along with a beautiful view of the sun reflecting off the sea. I am a definite moving veteran, I've had to do this many a times in my 17 years and I can honestly say it does get easier with each move. The only tedious bit about it is the unpacking of the clothes. Oh! How I am putting off unpacking my clothes. Two boxes remain unpacked in my room and those are the once that contain the things I'd rather not unleash, just yet. Hope you've all had a pleasant weekend and as soon as I finish up my room I'll be sure to post some photos of my new home.

Essie Hype

So what is the deal with all this Essie babble? I've noticed that Essie has become quite a large thing and ashamed to say so but I've just started paying attention to the Essie talk. I've found quite a few lovely colors on their website but can't seem to find them in the stores. The ones I did find in the stores, and the ones that did tickle my fancy were two pastille colors named Lilicism and Turquoise & Caicos. To review Essie I must agree with other reviews that I've read, it is definitely worth the money. I love the variety of colors that they offer, they all seem to suit a certain personality. As for the actual nail polish, the moment it is applied it gives a smooth and gorgeous appearance. I will definitely be buying more because so far it exceeded my expectations. So I must say, I'm glad that the Essie babble forced me to try it out myself. If any of you have joined the Essie fan club, which color is your love at the moment?

Mulig

Mulig

I've been wrapped up in packing everything I own as well as throwing out almost everything I own that I realized how empty my new room will be because of the excessive cleaning. So I headed over to IKEA, the pride of Sweden and had my eye set on a clothes rack called Mulig (which means chubby in Swedish!). After schlepping it over to the new house and setting it up I got to thinking that now I'll need some new things to hang on there! Typical thought from me but seeing as I've gotten rid of so many things I would not mind seeing some new fabrics being welcomed into my closet. To review this rack, I must say I find it quite nifty, its easy to find what you're looking for if you're in a hurry and I like that it has a minimalist feeling to it. I'm, however, not planning on putting all my clothes on it as it will probably collapse and will be unusable but it's a neat idea to store pieces of clothing that may brighten up your room or that you find special. Only about a week left till the move and I can't wait, living around boxes definitely takes away the homey feeling. Hope you've all had a good weekend.

Wonderful Whiskers

There has been a lack of posting due to spending my last couple of days in Sweden saying goodbye to my boyfriend and getting ready for my move. There has also been an addition to my large cat family, the red one was given to me by my love and the kitten shall reside with him although I am the kittens true cat lady. On another note, I am now back home getting ready for a house move which means having to go through the mess in my room. The things not being packed away to follow with to the new house will need to go with me to my move to Paris. Which is happening in 5 days. Absolutely absurd. And I am absolutely terrified as well as super excited. But what exactly needs and can be packed in one suitcase when going away for 10 months? I have no clue, that is why this certain pack needs to be cleverly organized. And how on earth am I going to be able to fit all the cats.. as much as it pains me to write, I am going to have to leave them behind. Same goes for quite a lot of my shoes. Sigh.

Curls

I decided that it was time for some hair change and decided to go for the 'messy' curls. I unfortunately have straight as a ruler hair so when I actually have the energy for curling my hair, I jump at the chance. Also since I color my hair so much (due to the blondness peeking out every couple of weeks) my hair gets incredibly dry. So I found this wonder elixir that just after a couple of drops in my hair has already started working. Curls look so much nicer when they aren't dry and damaged. So thanks to Davines Absolute Beautifying Potion (found here) my hair is on its way to being happy and healthy!

Autumn Wish list

autumn wish list

So I went for a looksies around town today and found that the autumn style is going to be q
quite lovely this year. Here are some of the things I hope to see enter my closet in the next few months, if my wallet allows it of course. I really want a black wooly sweater for those windy days, I feel that would be a useful buy. Well to be fair, I think all my buys are useful, which is definitely not a good thing!

Hugs all around,

Individual of Interest

Jemima Kirke. A unique woman that you don't see much of these days especially on television. She is a member of the GIRLS cast. And if you have not seen it, watch it. It is an absolutely incredibly show that will have you hooked. But for my individual of interest I chose Jemima because of her style, her beauty and her quirky essence. So here are some snazzy snaps! And may I just add that she pulls off bold lipsticks wonderfully well.

Paris? Mais Oui!

Oh Paris. My dream home. My dream, period. I've grown up thinking Paris is a place that could only be found in fairytales and it is actually true. I've been to Paris more times than I can count and every time, it always ceases to amaze me. I am in love with this city. It is breathtakingly beautiful, the architecture, the history, the food and lets not forget the people. I'm hoping to make this my home in the next month or so, if all goes according to plan and I do hope that it lives up to my grand expectations. I am certain it will. These illustrations (most adorable illustrations my eyes have ever seen perhaps) are from a perfect, handy little book called My Little Paris by a group of wonderful quirky individuals. There is also a site, which I spend most of my free time on, that give the best tips on what one can do in Paris. When and well if I move there, My Little Paris will be my personal Bible. And honestly, I cannot wait to step outside, open the book and see what adventure I may set out on in the beautiful capital of France.

If you have ever had the faintest interest in Paris, check out the website as soon as humanly possible. It gives you tips on fashion, beauty, culture, food, you name it and they've got a suggestions for it. And the great thing about the entire concept of My Little Paris is that it allows you to see Paris through a non-tourist perspective. Meaning you'll get the real Paris experience. The site is My Little Paris and don't worry, it translates into English as well. Hopefully this post succeeded in making you as excited/addicted to Paris as I've always been.

Berries for Supper

Today I was asked join to pick some raspberries. Seeing as this would be the last chance of doing this before autumn, I jumped at the chance. There is a wonderful place outside of town where you pay a certain amount to pick a carton of raspberries. The raspberries are in a massive greenhouse and it seems to go on forever. The only downside to the picking is that since they are so deliciously yummy, its hard to keep myself from tasting one or two. or even three. This summer I have been lucky enough to go both blueberry and raspberry picking, it is a perfect day activity and I definitely suggest it. Especially if the sun is shining. Plus all the hard work pays off when your kitchen is fully stocked with flavorful berries.

Lovely Likes

Here are my lovely likes of the week. The first is a laptop case, which is absolute perfection. Need I mention the irony with having a typewriter on a case that is meant to hold a laptop. But I love it, its got a handle and its from wonderful Mod-cloth. The second is an iPhone case by flapper doodle - check the website out, if I had the money I'd buy every single doodle in every form it comes in.  Mod-cloth is also responsible for the pin up lip balms that come in a set. Flavors include, Peppermint Rosemary, Grapefruit Orange, Lavender Chamomile, and Nutmeg Orange.  Pin up style is something I am crazy for so no surprise when it became a lovely like

Then there is the cat kettle and mugs set truly melts my heart, and I am desperately stopping myself from buying it. Although it is perfectly perfect. The kettle comes from none other than the lovely Mod-ClothThe fifth, a turquoise ring with gold birds by unexpected expectancy is something my suitor put a bid on, on a Swedish version of Ebay. The silver earrings that mesmerize me, are from ever so lovely, their stuff is well ever so lovely. All in all, I believe these  six things definitely deserve to go on my lovely likes of the week. Ahh sigh, the desire for them all is unbearable.

Burgundy

Burgundy

When I spotted this picture, I automatically fell in love with the color, burgundy. And on top of that, its suede. So for this autumn I've decided that I'm going to seek and find a pair of burgundy suede shoes to spruce up the closet a bit. The perfect thin about the color as well is that it matches with quite a lot of other colors, such as brown, beige and of course black. If you feel you've found an autumn color that you are in dire need of in your closet this autumn, I definitely know how you feel.

Autumn

I've become really in the mood for autumn. Autumn means change in weather, style and even food. That's why I've decided to dedicate this post to the lovely ideas that have popped up on my screen regarding Autumn refreshments.

1. The Hot Chocolate. An all time favorite and a definite classic. The instructions are (courtesy of dessert heaven): 1 cup milk. 2 spoons nutella. Saucepan. Heat medium. Blend. Whisk frothy. Add marshmallows. And you've got yourself a pretty delicious beverage.

2. The Autumn Sangria. We all know of the classic sangria which is normally sipped in Summer. Well I stumbled across a new sangria which would still be sure to quench our thirst. Ingredients & directions found here. I love the idea of mixing sugar and cinnamon together and applying it to the rim of the glass. It definitely adds flavor and looks lovely!

3. The Autumn Spiced Coffee. This is something I don't only do during Autumn, it is a simple and delicious idea to make your coffee a pinch more flavorful. All that needs to be done, is to simply add cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger in the filter of your coffee brewer along with your preferred coffee flavor. It will have the house and coffee smelling wonderful.

London Calling

Last week, my other half and I decided to go to London for a bit of a holiday. The Londoners were busily preparing for the London Olympics 2012. We managed to get almost every touristy thing done, seeing as London is practically my second home, I decided I'd give my boyfriend a typical London show. Which meant Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Camden Market, Trafalgar and of course every museum within walking distance. Yet again, London never seems to disappoint. If you're contemplating going, I say stop thinking and do it. You will definitely not regret it. However, maybe wait till the Olympics are over.. just a suggestion. -smiles-
